| ABSTRACT |
|
This study was investigated to identify the treatments of the peristomal skin, the type of products, methods of treatments, degree of stomy self-management, and satisfaction about the treatment methods for Korean ostomates. Most frequently used method for treating peristomal skin was cleansing with water and drying without crusting technique. Ostomates reported that actual application of crusting technique was compromised due to the difficulties in using method and high cost. Futher research is needed to measure the awareness of the ostomates for the purpose of the use of each product. Education program for ostomates should be modified based on the results of this study.
