ABSTRACT
Ionic silver has been known for its antimicrobial activity throughout history. Nowadays, silver is manufactured in many types of commercially available dressing products and is widely used in wound care. However, evidences from controlled randomized studies to support the effectiveness of silver dressing for the treatment of infected or contaminated wounds are still insufficient. We experienced one case of burn wound aggravation with silver dressing and we would like to present our experience along with a review of the related literature.
