| ABSTRACT |
|
Tuberculosis is caused by the bacillus Mycobacterium tuberculosis and usually affects the lungs but can affect otherorgans or tissues as well. It is the second leading cause of death from an infectious disease worldwide, after thehuman immunodeficiency virus. Among these various manifestations tuberculosis presents, musculoskeletalinvolvement occupies 3% of the patient population. Tuberculous myositis is very few disease entity, so there are fewarticles about surgical management of the tuberculous myositis. We described a case of 45-year old man who hashad tuberculous myositis in his right arm. We treated the wounds with 21 times of debridement and vacuum-assistedclosure. Finally, we could successfully cover the wounds with primary closure and split thickness skin graft. (J KoreanWound Management Soc 2014;10:98-100) |
