ABSTRACT
Nontuberculous Mycobacterial (NTM) infection is not a common event after fat injection for the purpose of aesthetics. We report the case of managing 51 years-old lady who had fat injection to her nose and both cheeks, and left cheek began to show several infection signs such as swelling, tenderness, skin discoloration, discharge and local heat after 6 months of the procedure. Incision and drainage was performed on 2nd day of hospitalization and under the suspicision of NTM infection, we decided to use empirical antibiotics that covers NTM species. Wound improved progressively and there was no complication. (J Korean Wound Management Soc 2011;7:35-37)
