ABSTRACT
Topical antimicrobials are used for disinfection and sterilization of various wound management such as perioperative preparation, treatment, and other septic techniques. Iodine, silver & sulphadiazine, biguanides, sodium hypochlorite, honey, and topical antibiotics have been recently used in wound care. Medical personnel should select topical antimicrobials discriminately for effective wound management. (J Korean Wound Management Soc 2009;5:28-33)
